Is Apple AirPods Pro Lite Worth It? Here's What You Need To Know

When Apple’s AirPods were introduced in 2016, they did not become popular right away. Its popularity started to rise in 2018 and eventually selling like hot cakes in 2019 after the second-gen and Pro versions were released as a follow-up.

There are rumors that Apple is launching a new model called AirPods Pro Lite and this was first shared by Digitimes in February. The publication did not state any other details aside from Apple’s supposed plan to release the said item so it is not yet certain if this will be the third-gen of the AirPods or a new type of the AirPods Pro.

It was reported that the AirPods Pro Lite is an entry-level model of the AirPods Pro series but its mass production was said to have been delayed and will begin in the second quarter of 2020. Thus, with this schedule, this new type of wireless Bluetooth earbuds created by Apple is likely to be released in September instead of March.

Digitimes also mentioned that Apple Watch, iPad and iMac will be in production as well. It was also hinted that the cause of the delay has something to do with the Coronavirus outbreak that is spreading around the world.

"Apple, maintaining partnerships with supply chains in both Taiwan and China, may have its Taiwanese partners handle more production of new-generation iPad, Apple Watch, AirPod Pro Lite and iMac devices to be released later as the epidemic has raised risks of raw materials supply shortages and shipments disruptions," Willis Ke wrote.

Is It Worth It to Buy AirPods Pro Lite?

According to MacWorld, AirPods Pro is a good buy because of its noise cancellation feature. There is also the transparency mode that allows more sound to reach the listener to be aware of the surroundings at the same time.

The audio is expected to be upgraded or remain the same as the AirPods Pro. It will also have the adaptive EQ feature that will allow adjustments to low and medium frequency for a crisp surround sound. It will also be resistant to sweats so it is alright to use them during workouts too.

Now, the AirPods Pro Lite is worth it because it has the main features of the existing AirPods Pro but this will be cheaper for sure. Perhaps, Apple will only take out the non-essential features such as the wireless charging case to lower the cost since this is being marketed as an “entry-level” unit.
