The Arsenal Gunners have been one of the most impressive teams during the opening portion of the 2013-2014 soccer season. Currently pacing the Barclays Premier League with 22 points, the Gunners remain a hot team, recently earning a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace while maintaining a two-point table lead over Chelsea and Liverpool in the standings. With the Premier League once again shaping up to be a tight stack at the top, Arsenal looks all the more impressive, able to notch seven victories and one draw in nine total matches while keeping clubs like aforementioned Chelsea and Liverpool in the rearview mirror along with creating distance beween themselves and Tottenham, Southampton, Everton, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Now set for the fourth round of the 2013-2014 Capital One Cup, Arsenal will look for another big win when they host BPL rival Chelsea at Emirates Stadium in England. The Gunners used a 4-3 advantage in penalty kicks to get past West Bromwich Albion in the third round of the Cup while Chelsea blitzed past Swindon Town by a score of 2-0 to set up this high profile showdown. Following a defeat of rival Manchester City, Chelsea's Fernando Torres - who scored the winning goal in the 2-1 win over City - says The Blues are soaring with confidence and that he hopes to ride the recent success throughout the season.

"I used to have a team-mate who told me every ball can be the most important ball of the game, and this is a clear example, a long ball and a misunderstanding and you have the ball to pass into the net," Torres said following the win over Man City. "I am feeling good and with high confidence, and feeling better in the system we are playing with more space. Hopefully we can keep improving as a team as it is just the beginning of the season and important games are coming."

The clubs met twice last season with Chelsea coming out on both occassions. The Blues earned a 2-1 victory at Emirates Stadium in the first meeting and followed that showdown up with a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge. While this game won't have an impact on the Premier League table, expect Arsenal and Chelsea to go at it full throttle in a game that carries a large aount of meaning.
