Exciting news for "The Legend of Korra" fans! After a successful contest via Tumblr, the creators of Korra have decided to release the season two finale of "The Legend of Korra" at midnight! Yes, your read that right the season one hour season finale, "Darkness Falls" and "Light in the Dark," will air tonight at midnight. Whatever weekend plans you may have had, cancel them, because it will definitely be a "Legend of Korra" kind of weekend. First at 8:00 p.m. episode 11, "Night of a Thousand Stars," and 12, "Harmonic Convergence," will air on Nickelodeon. Then at midnight episodes 13 and 14 of season two will air.
This news comes hot off the heels of a Tumblr challenge from voice actress Janet Varney, who plays Korra on the show. In the post Varney challenged fans to repost her message at least 10,000 times in 12-hours and if they did so the creators of "The Legend of Korra" would release the one hour season finale online at midnight. And since "The Legend of Korra" fans are so die-hard and loyal you know they completed that challenge well within the time frame. Fans should expect a lot of action tonight on "The Legend of Korra" in all four episodes. The first hour will deal with wrapping up the Republic City drama and Korra's start at saving the world, again. And the finale will finish with Korra saving the world and closing the spirit portals. The official descriptions for the first hour of Korra reads: Bolin saves the day when President Raiko is attacked; Korra and company try to close the spirit portals before the Harmonic Convergence. While the finale's official description reads: Korra discovers a new twist in Unalaq's evil plan; Tenzin realizes that he must face his own demons; Korra discovers a way that she may be able to defeat the ultimate dark spirit and save the world.
The news is bittersweet because as much as we we're looking forward to the season two finale of "The Legend of Korra" we were actually looking forward to waiting. Something about the anticipation makes it a little more exciting. But tonight is expected to still be magical.
