Good news Xbox One owners with broken Xbox One consoles! Microsoft is offering free launch games to anyone affected by the broken disc drive issue that has caused brand new games to make a terrible grinding noise. The news comes via an email from a Microsoft support rep published by Polygon. "While a replacement console is on its way, we want to ensure our advance exchange customers can stay in the game. We will provide each of them with a free digital download of one of the launch titles published by Microsoft Studios," the representative wrote in the email.

According to the email Microsoft will let the Xbox One owners with the optical drive issues choose from one of four titles. The titles include: "Dead Rising 3," "Forza Motorsport 5," Ryse: Son of Rome" and "Zoo Tycoon." Since these games are digital downloads gamers with the broken optical drives can still play while they wait for their new console. Since the consoles release last Friday multiple users have reported issues from unsuspecting reboots, dead pixels and the infamous broken disc drives. Some users have even posted videos displaying the broken drive (which can be seen below).

Microsoft is sending replacement units before user's mail out their faulty consoles for repair. The massive uproar of people concerned about defective machines has prompted Microsoft to say it was "taking care of our customers" affected by the hardware issues. Microsoft also confirmed that the optical disc issue is only affecting a very small amount of Xbox One customers.
