Daenerys Targaryen in "Game of Thrones"
Daenerys Targaryen in "Game of Thrones" HBO

Since the release of the "Game of Thrones" Season 3 trailer, it seems as though March 31 is further away than ever. But have no fear, it will arrive and when it does, it will be a season to remember. In the trailer, we hear Varys and his mischievous words, a man climbing the Wall, a fire blazing sword, the Khaleesi looking more powerful than ever, the Starks trying seek revenge and of course DRAGONS.

But while we have nothing but time until the epic series returns, read up on some characters to pay attention to, whether they rise or fall, we will just have to wait and see.

Daenerys Targaryen

Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen or Mother of Dragons, as we come to know her, is in for quite a change during Season 3. When we last saw her, she had departed Qarth with her dragons and power, intent to reclaim the Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdoms. She commanded her dragons to breathe fire and thus destroyed the warlocks of the House of the Undying; she also left Xaro Xhoan Daxos for dead in his vault. Daenerys seems to be gaining both confidence and power but at the end of Season 2 her predicament was her lack of an army and the youth of her dragons. The trailer gives a peak of the Mother of Dragons surrounded by a fierce army and her dragons growing bigger, it seems as though Daenerys is a force to be reckoned with this season.

Sansa Stark

If you told me during Season 1 that I would start to like Sansa Stark, I would have laughed. She was such a brat, always whining, dreaming of her handsome Prince Joffery, lying to protect him and just being a typical teenager to her father, Ned Stark. But Season 2 turned around a bit, while she can still be an annoying teenager, it seems as though young Sansa is starting to learn how to play the game of thrones. When we last saw her she was still being held captives by Queen Cersei, and being publicly abused by Prince Joffery in the royal court. Although there are some significant changes in for the young Lady Stark and it seems that if she keeps playing her innocent, clever game things may start to change for the Starks.

Tyrion Lannister

While the Imp seems to always have something up his sleeve, his position in his family during Season 2 was favorable, as the Hand of the King, then not so favorable, and now in Season 3 we do not know where he stands. But while wherever he stands is short, he is clever and cunning and going to soon be united with a family that we would have never expected, he even stands to gain a castle. But Tyrion's past will begin to emerge and it seems that for the little Lannister Lord old habits never die.

Jon Snow

Jon Snow may not have his father's name but he certainly has his understand of what it means to uphold a code of honor. After stating his vows and deciding to "take the black' and become a man of the Night's watch he has sworn a life of fealty to the realm. But we last found Jon is quite a tough situation, what will he do when he is taken to see Mance Ryder, the King Beyond the Wall. Will he run, will he fight, or will they simply kill him on the spot.

Season 3 is the one that Weiss and Benioff have been waiting for, it is said to be the biggest and most climactic end to a season of "Game of Thrones" yet. Yes, even bigger than the beheading of Ned and the appearance of the Whitewalkers, so get ready; pour your summer wines, because "winter is coming" and so is the start of Season 3.
