Brin-Shanahan Divorce Rumors: Tesla CEO Shrugs Off Accusations, Claims Fling Total BS

Elon Musk is no stranger to wild accusations, including an alleged fling with Google co-founder Sergey Brin’s wife, Nicole Shanahan.

Brin and Shanahan went separate ways and the Tesla CEO was singled out as the reason behind the separation. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, Musk and Shanahan allegedly had an affair back in December and this led to the end of their long-tenured friendship.

However, Musk rebuked these claims and said that the insinuations of him having an affair with Shanahan were total BS. He went on to add that he has not had sex in “ages” per a report from the Post.

Further, Musk showed off a photo to back his claim. In the image, both were seen partying and rubbing shoulders with Brin to rebuke claims that their friendship allegedly cooled off.

“Nicole and Sergey’s divorce has absolutely nothing to do with me,” Musk said via email. “I am sure both Nicole and Sergey would confirm that. I spoke with both Sergey and Nicole about this and they say the story isn’t coming from them, so [it] must be a case of broken telephone, two or three layers removed.”

Musk also explained that he has only seen Shanahan twice in three years and that in both times, they were with many people present.

“Haven’t even had sex in ages (sigh),” Musk said on Twitter.

For her part, the divorce from Brinn is allegedly a personal one. She opened up about the difficulty of getting pregnant, particularly during the launch of the Center for Female Reproductive Longevity and Equality at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging.

“Like many women who are not quite ready to start a family in their early 30s, I decided, or so I thought at the time, to take matters into my own hands and freeze embryos. However, after three failed attempts at embryo-making and three dozen visits to in vitro fertilization clinics around the Bay Area, I learned that I was not nearly as unshakable as I thought I was,” Shanahan quipped.

She ultimately gave birth to a baby girl, fathered by Brin, in late 2018 — the same year the couple wed in a low-key ceremony after about two years of dating. They met at a yoga retreat in 2015.
