The editors have deleted the first paragraph because it was essentially a barrage of expletives as I came to grips with just how savagely awesome the new Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is. Make no mistake: the new 707 horsepower Charger Hellcat is the most powerful sedan in the world.

In practice, shoving this much horsepower down the throat of a 4-door family car sounds maniacal. In theory, it's actually quite straightforward-- we've already seen it done to the epic Hellcat Challenger coupe, so how hard could it be the second time around? In fact, let it be known that I am in full support of dropping the macho 707 horsepower supercharged Hemi V8 into single vehicle in the Dodge lineup. How does a Hellcat Viper or a Hellcat Grand Caravan sound to you? Brilliant, that's what.

In a quarter-mile, the Dodge Charger Hellcat is capable of 11 seconds on street tires. The inconceivably fast Charger Hellcat is also claimed to burn a whole tank of fuel in just a mere 13 miles.

Finally, here is the mother of all specs: the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is capable of a logic defying top speed of 204 mph. Realize that even if the BMW M5 or the Mercedes-Benz E63 were to offer the same power, which it doesn't, the carmakers would take away the fun with a limited top speed of 155 mph anyway.
