A source close to Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton says the two had a very nice budding relationship, as they both related to privileged childhoods riddled with public pain. “They genuinely relate to each other and care about each other and ran in the same circles,” said the source. Clinton even went as far as to praise Trump in the glamorous pages of Vogue magazine, saying Ivanka’s charm is comparable to her father’s, former president Bill Clinton.

After all, both daughters had to survive seeing their fathers’ front-page sex scandals during their teenage years, and ended up becoming their stabling forces. In addition, the two women ended continuing in the family’s line of work, as they serve as board members and high-ranking officials at the Clinton Foundation and the Trump Organization, respectively. Adding to the coincidences, both women are non-Jewish married to Jewish men and have written advice books.

Now that the presidential race has gotten nasty and will most likely end in a Clinton vs. Trump head-to-head, Chelsea and Ivanka will no longer be seen in public together. “I don’t think Chelsea thinks Ivanka is controlling her dad,” said a mutual friend. “I don’t think she blames Ivanka.” But it was still pretty obvious, since Donald Trump attacked up Hillary Clinton by bringing up her husbands 90’s sex scandal, it made it clear that their two daughters could not continue to be friendly. “She's got one of the great women abusers of all time sitting in her house, waiting for her to come home for dinner,” Trump said.
