Journalist Chris Cuomo defended the Trump administration's approach to the Jeffrey Epstein fallout, saying it is "pretty reasonable" for him.
In an editorial on his NewsNation show, Cuomo addressed disenchanted MAGA members, saying the "administration is kind of looking like more of what you oppose, covering up for the powerful."
However, he said he doesn't believe "that's what this administration is doing." "Those pictures online of him with Epstein and the young girl and the hand, it's fake. I can't show you the picture and shouldn't show it to you. He knew Epstein, he liked Epstein, he partied with hi," he added.

"But he also knew he was a creep and took private action against him. I've never seen proof that ties Trump to any of the ugly, disgusting, insidious behavior that Epstein loved. I find Trump's position on Epstein pretty reasonable for him," Cuomo concluded.
However, Trump continues to face a revolt from his base over the matter. The president has lashed out at those showing their discontent, calling them "PAST supporters" on Wednesday. He went on to claim in a lengthy social media post that Democrats are behind the SCAM behind the "Jeffrey Epstein Hoax."
"My PAST supporters have bought into this "bullshit," hook, line, and sinker. They haven't learned their lesson, and probably never will, even after being conned by the Lunatic Left for 8 long years. I have had more success in 6 months than perhaps any President in our Country's history, and all these people want to talk about, with strong prodding by the Fake News and the success starved Dems, is the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax. Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work, don't even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don't want their support anymore!"
But despite Trump's lashing out, several MAGA figure are unwilling to let the topic go. During a recent episode of his "War Room" podcast, former Trump advisor Steve Bannon predicted there will be a MAGA doomsday if the administration follows through on its decision not to release the Jeffrey Epstein files.
"You're going to lose 10% of the MAGA movement. If we lose 10% of the MAGA movement right now ... we're gonna lose 40 seats in '26," Bannon warned during a live recording last Friday. "We're gonna lose the president," he added.
Moreover, House Speaker Mike Johnson stated that he supports the release of the Epstein files, advocating for transparency between the government and the American people.
