The Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills entered the 2013-2014 NFL season as teams most fans didn't expect much out of. The Browns have struggled consistently for years, last making the playoffs in 2002 and posting a dismal 54-110 record since that 9-7 campaign. As Cleveland continues to struggle, the Buffalo Bills have not been much better, last advancing to the postseason in 1999. Each team certainly has its fair share of history but recent versions of these professional organizations have left their fans with heartache time and time again.

Through all the recent struggles however, a glimmer of hope may be on the horizon for both teams. Through 4 games each this season, both the Bills and Browns post even 2-2 records while displaying the ability to compete on a regular basis. Buffalo took a chance during the recent NFL Draft by selecting former Florida State quarterback E.J. Manuel with the 16th overall pick and thanks to his athletic ability and knowledge of the game, Manuel seems ready to lead the franchise. Throwing for over 850 yards in 4 contests, the 23-year-old has also protected the football, totaling 5 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions while completing over 56% of his passes.

Much like their upcoming opponents, the Cleveland Browns plan to once again star a relatively unknown at quarterback. Playing and starting in the last 2 Cleveland contests, former Michigan State QB Brian Hoyer will once again have the opportunity to lead his team to a win. Throwing for 321 yards and 3 touchdowns in a win over the Minnesota Vikings two weeks ago, the 27-year-old followed up that performance with a 269 yard and two-score day in another win, this time over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Looking to improve to 3-2 - a record they have not held since 2002, the Browns are excited about playing with Hoyer once again.

"Brian's done a nice job for us coming in, providing that spark," Browns tackle Joe Thomas said. "He had two nice games already making the right throws, getting the ball out on time, just making sure everybody's on the same page. Sitting at 2-2, it's not where we wanted to be. But after an 0-2 start, it's as good as we could have done. Sitting there with a lot of games to go, but still fighting in the division. You can't ask for any more."

Set to play in front of what will certainly be a raucous Cleveland fan base, the Browns hope Hoyer can lead them to a third-straight victory on National television against a very talented Buffalo Bills team.
