“Cobra Kai” Season 4 is a wrap and most are left at the edge of their seats. There were new twists built in the season finale and now folks of the beloved series want more.

“Cobra Kai” Season 5 is booked especially following the results of the All-Valley tournament. The Cobra Kai dojo won it all in the end although it was dirty. When the smoke cleared, it was shown how the results were manipulated thanks to the work of Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith).

Silver paid the referee to rule the last match in favor of Tory Nichols (Peyton List), winning over Samantha LaRusso (Mary Mouser) in the final match in the women’s division. This explains why Nichols was awarded a point when LaRusso went out of bounds in the final match but still got a point.

There was also of course that betrayal with John Kreese (Martin Kove) getting a dose of being backstabbed. Silver staged it, apparently cutting a deal with Raymond aka Stingray (Paul Walter Hauser) who wanted badly to be a member of Cobra Kai.

In the final scene, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) was determined than ever to get even and end the reign of Cobra Kai, even commissioning the help of a former foe-turned-friend in Chozen (Yuji Okumoto).

From the ending of “Cobra Kai” season 4, it seems pretty clear that LaRusso is veering in the wrong direction, showing the stubbornness he was known for ever since the “Karate Kid” started.

So does this mean that Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) will be mellowing from here on? It certainly appears to be that way although there are still a lot of loose ends.

“Cobra Kai” season 5 is likely to carry on the other transformations. Tory appears to be softening up, same with Roby Keene, the son of Lawrence.

But a character to watch as well is Kenny Payne (Danny Young). After being bullied by the group of Anthony LaRusso (Griffin Santoprieto) there was a lot of hate seen. In fact, in the final episode, he vowed to get back at Anthony and his gang despite the latter trying to apologize and mend fences.

Given the ton of twists, season 5 may not be able to address all the plots set from season 4. “Cobra Kai” season 5 has already finished filming but no official release date has been set.

But a fair time to expect it would be by mid-2022. And if that happens, don’t be surprised if the fifth season would not be the last for “Cobra Kai.”
