After the last few months of filming Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film “The Hateful Eight,” Oscar nominated actor Demián Bichir will return to the stage for a very special performance alongside dad Alejandro and brother Bruno and Odiseo. The Bichirs will be in the play “El último preso” (The Last Prisoner) originally written in 1958 by Poland's Slawomir Mrozek. The play started last December in Mexico City and began touring last April. Demián will be performing on May 20 in Tijuana and on May 21 in Mexicali in an experience that he says will be very emotional. “It's a blessing for me to join my family once again,” said Bichir.

In one of his performances, Bichir will have the opportunity to act opposite his father for the very first time. Although this will all be worth it, the Mexican actor described the process of preparing to play two characters was “very chaotic” since he flew to Mexico any time Tarantino gave him breaks and rehearsed via Skype when he wasn’t able to travel. The Bichirs started their careers in theatres in 1980, so this will be a very meaningful return for the actor and a relaxing time before he gets back to work as a director and producer.

Bichir is in fact coproducing “Refugio” along with brother Bruno; a project which he also wrote and will be directing about a man who goes from working in a circus in Mexico to the New Orleans night life, in his search for true love. Eva Longoria and his nephew José Angel Bichir are set to play a part in the movie. Bichir gushed proudly about his brother Odiseo’s son calling him “a great who is dedicated and works seriously.”
