Talk about your epic fails. On Sunday, during a Dutch League soccer game, Go Ahead Eagles goalkeeper, Mickey Van der Hart missed one of the easiest saves you could imagine. The Dutch goalkeeper made an awful attempt to clear the ball and instead it slowly rolled right past him. Van der Hart gave up the embarrassing goal in the final few minutes of the game, giving AJAX Amsterdam the 2-1 win.

Go Ahead Eagles teammate Wesley Verhoek passed a slow rolling ball back Van der Hart who unnecessarily tried to run up and kick it. Instead, the keeper whiffed mightily and the ball rolled past him for the goal. The save literally could have been made by a toddler. Now we all know accidents can happen, especially in the sport of soccer. However, Van der Hart is actually under contract with AJAX, and his time with the Go Ahead Eagles this season is temporary as he is on-loan.

The fact that he gave up the ridiculous goal to his parent club has many in the soccer world suspicious. You see, going into the match Ajax needed the victory desperately. They currently stand in second place in the table and were just a few points ahead of third and fourth. If they can hang on to that second spot, not only do they advance to the league finals, but an ever-important berth in the Champions League next season would await them. The Go Ahead Eagles on the other hand are in 15th place out of 18 total teams and have no shot at the postseason.

Since Van der Hart is set to return to Ajax next season, he really had nothing to lose and plenty to gain if he indeed intentionally let the ball get passed him. However, judging by his reaction, the goal does not seem to be premeditated. Check out the video of the goal below and judge for yourself.
