He joked. He dazzled. He gave a Spanish lesson. Mexican actor Diego Luna made an appearance on "Conan" Monday night to talk about his new film "Elysium." It didn't stop there as the 33-year-old asked host Conan O'Brien if he spoke Spanish, which quickly turned into witty banter followed by Luna trying to explain some of the finer nuances of the language.

"The thing is if you want to keep your job in this network you're going to have to learn Spanish. You know like 47 million people speak Spanish today, and we like having sex, so multiply that [by] eight in ten years," Luna said before the impromptu teachable moment.

O'Brien called it a lesson in survival Spanish and asked the actor what words he needed to know to make it in a world where the language is slowly beginning to dominate. The actor gave some practical yet uncouth suggestions before O'Brien attempted to put his acquired knowledge to use.

"If you want to survive in the future in this country you have to know 'no mames,' which is an expression," Luna told the late night host while trying to explain the crude phrase. "Literally it means 'do not suck' or 'don't suck it' like the lollipop obviously."
