Does Beyonce Care About Estranged Father's Breast Cancer Battle?

Despite all his efforts to keep his condition a secret, Beyoncé’s father Matthew Knowles now revealed that he has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

In an interview with ABC’s Good Morning America, the 67-year-old claimed that he is at the present combatting breast cancer. It is not clear if Beyoncé knows about this or not. What people are aware of however is that the father-daughter duo does not have a good relationship.

"You remind me of my father, a magician … able to exist in two places at once,” Beyoncé once said in a spoken word segment on one track for her popular album, “Lemonade.” “In the tradition of men in my blood, you come home at 3 a.m. and lie to me.”

A self-confessed sex addict, Matthew and Beyoncé’s mom Tina Knowles divorced in December 11, 2011. This, after over three decades of marriage.

After that divorce, Queen Bey immediately dropped him as her manager.

Speaking with Radar Online, Matthew shared that her daughter’s emotions with regard to him are just normal. “It’s the process we all go through with betrayal,” Mathew said. “Then you have to have acceptance and forgive. That’s what I saw. It’s about you.”

It cannot be remembered when the two have last talked. It can be remembered that Matthew talked about Beyoncé back in June this year and stated that her color benefited her, even though other black artists were being shunned.

“Programmers, especially at pop radio, have this imagery of what beauty looks like... If you look back even at Whitney Houston, if you look at those photos, how they lightened her to make her look lighter-complexioned,” he said. “Because there’s a perception and a colorism: the lighter that you are, the smarter and more economically (advantaged)… There’s a perception all around the world about color — even with black folks, there’s a perception,” he added.

Beyonce is yet to react to the revelation and show whether she cares or not.
