It was a night to remember for Mel Brooks. The legendary comedian was honored by the AFI (American Film Institute) for his achievement in the film industry. Brooks was joined by close friends such as Martin Scorsese, Billy Crystal, Amy Yasbeck, Luana Piovani, Sarah Silverman and Amy Poehler. His family was with him too, of course, particularly his favorite grandchild, Henry, who wore a tuxedo and a fedora to match his grandpa's! But one of our major surprises was to see Eugenio Derbez in the red carpet of the event.

Derbez is one of Latin America's most important comedians and has been working hard in the U.S. in films like "Girl In Progress" and the show "Rob." The Mexican actor showed at the Dolby Theatre in L.A. as an avid admirer of Brooks, and brought along longtime girlfriend Alessandra Rosaldo.

Rosaldo tweeted excited from the event: "(Since I can't scream here, let's do so in Twitter) AAAAAHH!!!! Robert De Niro is sitting next to me! AAAAAAH."This Friday morning, the former singer of Sentidos Opuestos took to the same social network to write: "Yesterday we were together with Morgan Freeman, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Billy Crystal, Martin Short and the great Mel Brooks! #Icantbelieveit."
