Eva Mendes is about to celebrate her first Mother’s Day after welcoming daughter Esmeralda with Ryan Gosling, last September. However, the actress told “Access Hollywood Live” last Tuesday that she has no set plans for this coming Sunday. “I kind of feel like I haven't quite earned my stripes yet in a way. She's seven months old,” said Mendes about her daughter. Instead she plans on celebrating and honoring her own mother, “This Mother's Day is definitely all about my mom,” she told the hosts.
Mendes explained her mom has had a really tough year since the actress’s brother is sick, so the special day will be all about honoring and pampering her mother by “going over to her house and bombarding her with love.” In fact, the actress stood firm on not hiring any help for the first few months, thanks to an amazing support system too; “My mom and my two older sisters have always been telling me I could accomplish anything. We have each other’s backs in the best way.”
This is not the first time the “Lost River” has said she feels like an amateur when it comes to mommy business. She told Women’s Health magazine in April she “hasn’t earned the right to give out advice to other moms: “I don’t feel like I’ve really earned the right. I want to respect all the moms out there,” said Mendes. “They’re going to be like, 'You know what? You’re a few months in. Just shut up.'”
