“Friends” officially leaves Netflix and fans are devastated. The leading streaming service pulled out the 90s favorite comedy show on the midnight of Dec. 31 after its deal expired.

In July, Netflix already revealed its plan to remove “Friends” from its programming lineup. On Twitter, the streaming giant platform tweeted: “The one where we have to say goodbye. We’re sorry to see ‘Friends’ go to Warner's streaming service at the beginning of 2020 (in the US). Thanks for the memories, gang.”

Apparently, starting Jan. 1, 2020, “Friends” will not be available on Netflix anymore and it was said that fans have to wait for five months before it returns. This is because the show is set to premiere on its new home which is HBO Max but this platform has yet to be launched.

According to Variety, WarnerMedia announced that HBO’s streaming service has been set to debut in May 2020 and subscribers can sign up to watch its shows for $14.99 per month. Then again for fans who don’t want to wait that long, there are other ways to watch “Friends” before it premieres on HBO Max.

Newsweek reported one option is to buy all 10 seasons of “Friends” from digital media stores such as Google Play and iTunes. It mentioned that DirectTV and Sling subscribers can also stream the episodes since they re-broadcast the show after it aired on TV via TBS, Paramount or Comedy Central.

Further, Amazon and YouTube still have “Friends” too and viewers can either buy or rent to view any season of the sitcom. For fans who can’t wait for five months to see Phoebe, Ross, Rachel, Monica, Joey and Chandler again, they can spend a bit on other options to watch it starting January 2020 and prices range from $19.99 per season to $140 for a complete series. They can also check out Fandango Now and Microsoft as they are known to have all the seasons of “Friends” as well but for a fee.

Most probably, the best option to watch “Friends” is to buy the Blu-ray or DVD edition. Fans can keep the show forever and watch it again and again anytime if they choose this. What’s more, they do not have to worry about internet connection or slow internet service so they can watch the comedy uninterrupted.

For fans overseas, there is nothing to worry about as they can still see “Friends” on Netflix. This is because the expired deal only applies in the U.S.
