TV host Gregory Rodriguez was killed by a Montana man late Thursday evening. Rodriguez, host of Sportsman Channel show "A Rifleman's Journal," was shot by Wayne Bengston when he found the TV presenter visiting his wife.

Bengston then beat his wife, took his 2-year-old son to a relative's house and drove 25 miles away to West Glacier, where he killed himself, police said. Jealousy is being pointed as the motive of the murder.

The victim is said to have been in town for business and visited the woman at her mother's house in Whitefish, Mont., when her husband showed up Thursday night.

It is unclear what the relationship was between Rodriguez and Mrs. Bengston or how they knew each other, but police do not believe they were having a romantic affair, as reported by the Daily Mail. Whitefish Police Chief Bill Dial said that the woman met Rodriguez at a trade show and struck up a casual, platonic relationship.

After the shooting, Flathead County sheriff's deputies found Bengston's truck parked in his West Glacier's house driveway. Efforts to contact Bengston inside the house were unsuccessful, and officers found the man's body with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Besides appearing on TV, Rodriguez, originally from Sugar Land, Texas, was the founder and CEO of Global Adventures Outfitters. He was a mortgage banker before that, and has hunted in 21 countries, according to Outfitters' website.

Rodriguez's left behind a wife, Lisa, and two children, a boy and a girl. The family issued a statement following the death of Rodriguez, saying that "Greg was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend. We love him and will miss him dearly. Please respect the family in their time of mourning and allow them to grieve in peace."
