'GTA 5' Online Cheat Ban
Rockstar is banning "GTA 5" cheaters that exploit the money glitch. Rockstar Games

What the heck is going on over here? According to a number of reports on Reddit, several new players on "GTA 5" have lost countless millions in cash and saw their GTA Online rank reset to Level 1 all over again. Every gamer that has experienced the latest "GTA 5" glitch called it unexpected, to say the least.

As if losing your millions of dollars were not enough, a level 1 reset is far worse as a player will lose everything the reset entails. This means that a "GTA 5" gamer will lose their money, weapons, apartment, vehicles, as well as their RP bonus. What's more, incidents may occur during sessions. If this were to happen in real life, it would be worse than a bankruptcy.

No doubt, the issue spread like wildfire on Reddit and was shared on Rockstar support forums as well. Affected players are recommended to submit a ticket regarding the issue. Be sure to also take screenshots that clearly show player stats. on GTA Online. Eventually, some affected players did confirm that Rockstar support did infact restore their original stats and rank.

So what caused the bizarre technical issue? Could it be a troll created by malicious modders? Apparently, the issue is linked to an inherent technical bug that Rockstar must hot-fix and provide a patch for. Hopefully, we'll see the last of this ridiculous glitch by the "GTA 5" 1.18 update.

So far, details are limited regarding the next "GTA 5" DLC for October. That said, early sources suggest that a special "GTA 5" Halloween update may be in the works. If we could make a suggestion, a Zombie DLC would be most appropriate for this festive occasion.

Apparently, the rank reset issue seems to be linked to some inherent technical glitch or bug in the game and we could just hope that Rockstar might hot-fix the issue or roll out a patch in upcoming 1.18 update for GTA Online.
