These days, most rumors about Gwen Stefani are all about whether or not she is already secretly married to her fellow “The Voice” coach Blake Shelton. However, long-time fans of the “No Doubt” singer will never forget that she was once married to hunky Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale, which lasted for more than a decade.

Unfortunately, the glamorous rock couple’s marriage did not stand the test of time, and they decided to split in 2015 after almost 13 years of marriage. As expected, there were some accusations from both parties, but Rossdale was largely blamed for allegedly cheating on Stefani. However, a few outlets say that “there's a lot more than meets the eye” to this story.

For instance, Nicki Swift described Stefani and Rossdale’s breakup as “incredibly shady.” The publication noted that Shelton filed for divorce from Miranda Lambert on July 20, 2015, while Stefani divorced Rossdale less than a month later.

Stefani’s rep had to quell down rumors of a romance between the “No Doubt” singer and Shelton by September 2019. Stefani reportedly did not want to cough up more cash than necessary in the settlement and had to avoid making any news linking her and Shelton before her divorce to Rossdale is finalized.

Stefani revealed that she discovered that Gavin Rossdale was sleeping with the nanny of their three children, Mindy Mann, on Feb. 9, 2015. The discovery, she said, was the beginning of hell for her.

However, suddenly bringing up the nanny issue at such time when Stefani was facing backlash over those Blake Shelton rumors seemed too convenient according to Nicki Swift. “While it may well be true, the timing of the story's going public is pretty suspect — and if Stefani released the news herself through her rep, it's a pretty bad move as a mom,” the publication wrote.

Of course, that’s not saying that Rossdale is totally blameless either. Aside from his relationship with Mann, the Bush singer did some things that definitely infuriated Stefani, such as the discovery of his love child with former girlfriend Pearl Lowe and his previous relationship with a male.

As with any other Hollywood breakup, Stefani had her rebound. Just as everyone previously suspected, she finally opened up about her relationship with “The Voice” co-judge Blake Shelton. Of course she insisted that it was not a publicity stunt for the show, but some people can’t help but think otherwise.
