Evette Rios Conjures Spooky Snacks for Halloween Fun. Evette Rios

Getting ready for the festivities is an exciting challenge for innovative families across the country, we talked with TV Host Evette Rios, an expert in throwing parties and offering fun solutions for people around the holidays, “I’m a huge fan of Halloween," Rios said, "I remember one time my mom use the mop and she made a wig so I would look like a lion, it was cute and we had great memories creating costumes."

The TV Host invited us to her Spooky Snack Lab to see her creepy recipes and creations for Halloween. "This is a special holiday because it allows you to have fun, be creative and step out of the box a little bit,” and while is important to celebrate she "recommends for everyone to have fun this year, eat some of the candy in moderation and spend quality time with their families." In addition, the lifestyle expert shared some of her secrets to entertain your guests with different ideas for this October 31st, "we want people to have fun and experiment snacks in a different way," Rios added.

Spooky Oreo Spiders

Spooky Oreo Spiders Recipe. Evette Rios

Makes 10 servings (2 cookies each)

Prep time: 10 minutes and Total time: 10 minutes

  • 1/4 cup white decorating icing
  • 20 OREO Cookies
  • 20 large green candy-coated chocolate pieces
  • 2 Tbsp. black decorating icing

Make It: Use white decorating icing to pipe spider web design onto top of each cookie. Top with candy-coated chocolate pieces for the spiders' bodies, use remaining white decorating icing to pipe 2 small dots onto top of each candy for the spider's eyes. Use black decorating icing to make the spiders' legs.

Tips: Prepare recipe using any large green candy-coated chocolate pieces, such as peanut butter-filled chocolate pieces or pretzel-filled chocolate pieces.

Tapenade of terror with parmesan-crusted wheat thins

Makes 12 servings (2 Tbsp. dip and about 10 crackers each)

Prep time: 20 minutes and Total time: 45 minutes

  • 1 jar (7 oz.) roasted red peppers, drained
  • 1 jar (6.5 oz.) marinated artichoke hearts
  • 1/2 cup loosely packed fresh parsley
  • 1 wedge (3 oz.) Parmesan cheese, finely grated, divided
  • 1/4 cup drained capers
  • 1 large clove garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 pkg. (9.1 oz.) WHEAT THINS Original Snacks
  • 1-1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
  • 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

Make It: Process roasted peppers, artichokes, parsley, capers, garlic, lemon juice and 1/4 cup cheese in food processor just until blended. (Do not process until smooth.) Spoon into serving bowl. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Heat oven to 350°F.

Cover 2 rimmed baking sheets with foil; spray with cooking spray, place crackers in single layer on prepared baking sheets. Combine oregano, black pepper and remaining cheese; sprinkle over crackers. Bake 8 to 10 min. or until heated through. Cool. Serve crackers with roasted red pepper mixture.

Tips: The roasted red pepper mixture can be refrigerated up to 2 days before using as directed.

Variation: this roasted pepper mixture also makes a great dip for your favorite crackers. Or serve it as a sauce spooned over grilled fish or chicken.

Fanta Bloody Drew

Make a bloody drew this Halloween with Fanta. Evette Rios
  • 5 cans of Fanta Strawberry soda
  • 5 cans Fanta Orange soda
  • 20 oz. lemon juice
  • 5 drops of red food coloring (optional)
  • 10 Large gumdrops for garnish
  • Crushed Ice
  • Black sugar for garnish
  • 10 chilled glasses (placed in the freezer before)

Make It (per drink): Combine 3 parts Strawberry Fanta with 1 part orange Fanta and 2 oz. lemon juice in pitcher and set aside your Bloody Brew. Roll gumdrop out with rolling pin into a 2” oval and cut 4 “leg” onto each side of your spider.

Press spider onto the end of a straw and set aside, rub lemon wedge around edge of glass and roll edge of glass into a plate of black sugarFill glass to top with crushed ice and fill with your Bloody Brew and top with spider straw
