iPad Mini 2 Release Date Most Likely To Come This Year; Retina Display And Bezel-Free Design Rumored To Be Included

iPad Mini 2 release date may be faster approaching than we originally expected. New information from Digitimes reveals that we may see the iPad Mini 2 release as early as the end of this year! This accelerated release date would certainly be plausible, because many originally believed that Apple decided to first release the Mini just in time for the holidays. Therefore by releasing the iPad Mini 2 at the end of this year, we certainly would see the new tablet for the holidays again.

But while it is easy to speculate on when the iPad Mini 2 will be released it is more difficult to try to figure out what exactly the next-gen iPad Mini will feature. Apple's full size iPad 4 features retina display although the current Mini offers a 7.9 inch iOS display without retina display. This lack of HD display has lead to easy speculation that Apple will release the iPad Mini 2 with a higher resolution screen.

In addition to a more pixel-dense display for the iPad Mini 2, rumors are stating that the new tablet will feature a bezel-free design. The original iPad Mini reduced the think sides when in portrait display, these thick sides were included in the original design of the iPad to provide user with a way to hold the device without getting in the way of the touch screen. Although Apple updated this software, in the iOS 6 on the Mini, the software was able to disregard touches from the sides when necessary. Improving on this software may bring great changes in hardware come iPad Mini 2 release date.
