iPhone users might need to mark the calenders for September 20th, as that is the rumored date for the launch of the next generation iPhone device. According to TmoNews, T-Mobile has blocked out September 20th through the 22nd for employees. What this means is that they will not be able to request any time off or vacation as they are expected to need all of their staff available to report to work. This makes enthusiasts believe that September 20 is the release date for the highly anticipated iPhone 5S and 5C. Similar scheduling strategies have been implemented in the past to ensure the launch goes smoothly with the high influx of traffic expected.
Apple is expected to announce the update to the smartphone in an event scheduled for September 10 as multiple sources have confirmed. The new iPhone is set to be equipped with Apple's next generation A7 processor that will make it about 31 percent faster than the iPhone 5. It is also rumored to have a 12-megapixel camera sensor with a dual LED flash system that will make it take better pictures in low-light conditions. Not only that but the 5S version will also come in a golden option in addition to the black and white version. The tech company is also expected to announce a lower-end device aimed at budget conscious consumers, dubbed iPhone 5C. This smartphone is expected to have a plastic shell and come in an array of colors. A recent leaked picture supports the production of the lower-cost model.
Today, it was confirmed that an iPhone trade-in program at Apple stores would take effect ahead of the iPhone 5S and 5C release date. Although details of how the program will work are scarce, the pilot program was tested nationwide and tested positive and is expected to rollout on a grand scale. The trade-in program would allow iPhone users to go into any Apple retail store and trade-in their used iPhone for a shiny new piece of hardware. Apple in turn would refurbished the devide and sell it to customers.
