The COVID-19 outbreak has brought the regular functioning of several industries to a screeching halt. But, small businesses continue to be the hardest hit. U.S. President Donald Trump’s eldest daughter Ivanka Trump gets it.

Long story short: Ivanka will be the overall in charge of a new food distribution program that aims to aid farmers and local food producers in the face of a pandemic.

The distribution program titled, “Farmers to Families Food Box Program” facilitates the supply of meal boxes through the federal government that acts as the connecting link between farmers and local distribution centers. The program entails addressing key issues of concern today -- gap in the food supply chain compounded by the coronavirus.

The global health crisis saw Ivanka take charge and push for several importance causes: As per a media report, the American businesswoman and White House member is making substantial contributions to support fledgling businesses directed at manufacturing personal protective equipment, the paycheck protection program and economic injury disaster loans and the like.

What’s interesting to note is that Ivanka is well-aware of the access that comes with her last name. “I think when you work in the White House, you tend to have your calls returned," said Ivanka, in a recent interview with a media outlet. “And I think most Americans are patriots and want to answer the call to action when things are requested of them,” she added.

The 38-year-old isn’t one to shy away from seeking help, and this time around, she’s really on the lookout for more support. “I'm not shy about asking people to step up to the plate. The whole country needs to be galvanized in the effort, both to combat this deadly virus, but also to rebuild ... to rebuild our economy as we emerge,” Ivanka said.

The United States of America stands as one of the hardest-hit countries in the global health crisis. With over a million Americans have tested positive, the country is in dire need of newer strategies to flatten the curve and check the spread of the disease. Despite the alarming numbers, Donald Trump seemed focussed on getting the economy back and running, to avoid a catastrophic economic recession.
