No. 7 Rockets guard Jeremy Lin is getting ready for Wednesday night's first regular-season game when the Houston Rockets take on the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Lin has started in five of six preseason games. He has an average of 5 points per game. He has an average of 2.2 rebounds 6.2 assists, and 2.4 steals per game.

The Rockets has won four of its six preseason games. In the last three games that Lin started in, he scored 13 points. Lin is fourth overall in the NBA in terms of assists per 48 minutes among players who have averaged at least 20 minutes per game so far, according to the Rockets.

Lin had a knee surgery and many have been questioning his readiness for the regular season.

Lin told NBA's Jason Friedman that "the scouting report is out there in terms of my strengths and weaknesses."

"I think from that end they're going to try to take away my No. 1 option," Lin said. "It's about adapting. I'm just trying to take whatever the defense gives me. Some games there will be more shots and some games won't be as many, but I don't want to force the issue; I just want to take what the defense gives me."

The NBA general managers said the Knicks not matching Jeremy Lin offer was one of the most surprising move of the off-season.

In July, the New York team did not agree to pay Lin more than the $25 million over three years that the Rockets were offering.

The Rockets' offer to Lin reportedly pays $5 million in the first year, $5.225 million in the second and $14.8 million in the third.

The 6 foot 3 point-guard said he agrees with people who think that he still has to learn, is not established enough and hasn't done it long enough, but he won't agree with people who say "he's at most a backup point guard.
