The jury in the trial of convicted murderer Jodi Arias has resumed deliberating her fate Thursday. The courtroom was recessed Wednesday after the jury could not reach their requisite unanimous decision.

Jodi Arias has been convicted of killing boyfriend Travis Alexander by stabbing, shooting and slashing him. Alexander's family testified on behalf of their late brother last week, calling Travis "bulletproof".

According to the AP, the law governing juries in the death penalty 'phase' of the trial says that the entire jury may be dismissed if they cannot unanimously decide the defendant's fate. A new jury will be brought in, and if that jury is hung, the magistrate in the suit, in this case, Hon. Sherry Stephens, would sentence Arias to life in prison or life with the possibility of parole after 25 years served. If the latter is the case, Arias would be in her 50s before having a shot at life on the outside once again.
