Jorge “El Travieso” Arce returned to his home in Los Mochis, Sinaloa after being released from the Central Men’s and Women’s Jails in Orange County, California, last week. During his arrival at Los Mochis International Airport, reporters were patiently waiting for the former WBO Super Bantamweight Champion to answer a few questions regarding the recent sexual abuse accusations.

“I really can’t talk much about the case, the only thing I can say is that the truth will prevail […] and it will because I respect my daughters, I have three girls, and my lady […] so, it’s not fair that this woman is defaming me,” Arce told Línea Directa.

On February 28, the 36-year-old boxer was arrested after an employee at the Embassy Suites Anaheim, where he was staying for the weekend, accused him of forcing her to perform oral sex on him. He spent 3 days and 2 nights in prison, until the bail was set at $25,000.

“In the next few days I’m going to show my face in the United States again, and people will find out this is just a big lie,” Arce told El Debate. “This woman has no proof of anything because I didn’t do anything wrong.”

The alleged victim, who has remained anonymous but appears to be married, has presented enough evidence to continue with the case, which could translate into 8 years of prison for the father of three, TVnotas reports. Arce will have to return to the country on March 28 for his first hearing in Orange County, California.
