Former WBO Super Bantamweight Champion, Jorge ‘EL Travieso’ Arce, was arrested last weekend in Anaheim, California after an employee at the Embassy Suites accused him of sexual abuse. According to Telemundo, the 36-year-old boxer forced the woman into having oral sex.

Sources report Arce was in town for the Leo Santana Cruz vs. Kiko Martínez match on Sunday and was arrested by local authorities shortly after the event. He was later transported to the Central Men’s & Women’s Jails in Orange County, California, where he had to post a 25,000 dollars bail to be freed.

Information provided by the police disclosed the boxer spent two nights in jail before the Judge announced the bail amount. No further details have been published on the case’s follow-up, but officials mention Arce could be returning to the U.S. soon to face a Judge in court if the victim persists on the charges.

ESPN mentions they tried to contact the boxer but he is not giving any public statements on the matter at the moment. However, his brother Francisco Arce agreed to talk to the media and revealed he is very sad to hear about the accusations but is trying to remain calm until everything is settled.

“Jorge is calm and knows everything is going to be ok. He already has his lawyers working on the case and obviously he is sad for the situation and what he is going through,” Panchito told Telemundo47. “This woman, who is pressing charges, can say anything she wants but his lawyers advised him to stay cool and carry on with his life, and they’ll take over the case.”
