Kate Middleton and her husband Prince William may present the picture of the ideal couple today, but that was not always the case between them. According to a royal expert, there was a time early in the relationship that the yet to be Duchess of Cambridge told off her partner for his behavior.
Royal expert Vicky Ward revealed that early in the relationship it was Middleton who was conscious about how Prince William has to be careful about how he behaves because he is a part of the royal family. Her expectations for the high standards of behavior from her partner led to some unflattering comments in the prince’s friend circle, but experts agree that she was right in her assessment.
One incident that symbolizes how it was Middleton who wanted more regal behavior from her partner came in 2006, Express reported. The couple was on a vacation back then in Ibiza with a few of their friends. Prince William was outside with his friends having fun and recklessly driving around in motorcycles.
A royal source revealed that Middleton, who was angry with such behavior, came out of the house and chastised the boys. She explained that anybody could be watching, and it could get them in trouble. She asked the two men to stop such behavior, and they reportedly obeyed like “schoolboys.”
Such behavior from Middleton made her a subject to insults. Some were even against the marriage back then because they believed that the royals should not marry “out” of their class.
With the past behind them, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are now parents of three beautiful children. They have been using their popularity to promote social causes.
In June this year, Middleton joined Action for Children charity for children for a special photography workshop arranged by the Royal Photographic Society. Snaps from that day were posted on the official Instagram page of the couple on World Photography Day.
