Kim Jong Un’s death rumors are false, confirmed the foreign policy adviser to the president of South Korea. He further added that the supreme leader of North Korea is “alive and well” and is currently staying in the resort town of Wonsan.
The update has come after a U.S. monitor revealed that Kim’s signature royal train has been spotted parked at a station in the resort town of Wonsan. The train, which is 250-meter long, has been parked at the Leadership Railway Station, which is reserved for use exclusively by Kim’s family members.
While the satellite images of the signature train do not confirm anything about Kim’s health or his presence but it does add some credibility to the reports that Kim is staying in the resort town of Wonsan on the country’s eastern coast.
"Our government position is firm," said Chung-in Moon, a key aide to the South Korean President Moon Jae-in. "Kim Jong Un is alive and well. He has been staying in the Wonsan area since April 13. No suspicious movements have so far been detected."
Meanwhile, multiple sources have claimed that Kim passed away Saturday night. One of the sources includes Hong Kong-backed news channel, whose vice-president is the niece of one of the Chinese foreign minister.
It was earlier reports that China has sent a team of medical experts to North Korean capital Pyongyang to assess the situation and Kim’s health.
The rumors speculating Kim’s ill health emerged after he failed to attend an important event in North Korea. Later, it was revealed that he has had heart surgery and is recovering. While a few reports claimed that he has not been doing well since the surgery, others said that he slipped into a coma shortly after the procedure and has been declared brain-dead.
But the editor of the influential media channel in North Korea believes that the reports are false and the pictures of the train could be proof. According to Chad O'Carroll, Kim has been sighted at the coastal resorts and he is in constant touch with several officials. Since no reports of unusual military and security movements have been reported from the region, Kim is not dead.
