Singer, Laura Pausini, moved to Mexico last month to prepare to join the judges of singing competition, reality show, “La Voz” Mexico. Upon her arrival, she asked the paparazzi not to take any pictures of her daughter, Paola, because of a stalker situation. The Italian singer also said, “I am so proud to come and represent my country here. I’m hoping to find someone from Europe who can cross the borders, and come on the show.” Yuri, Julión Álvarez and Ricky Martin are the other three judges who occupied the show’s famous red chairs.
The show’s new season premiered last night and amongst the many highlights was Laura Pausini’s outfit. Her skirt by fellow Italian designer, Alberta Ferretti was completely taken out of context. She styled the skirt with a chambray shirt, a turquoise statement necklace and red high-heel pumps, which were apparently very uncomfortable as the singer took them off (see photo above.) While the outfit is wrong on so many levels, one of the main ones is that it looks exactly like the uniforms waitresses at Sanborn’s restaurants wear (diners in Mexico.)
Maybe Laura should do a little more research of the fashion do’s and don’ts in Mexico and also take a styling tip (or two) from Alberta Ferretti. This way the next time the show airs, fans on social media will be talking about the contestants and performances, instead of the fashion disasters.
