The Lamborghini Aventador, the latest iteration of the Raging Bull mid-engine V12 flagship supercar, is looking to be its most successful iteration as well.
In only its 15th month of production, the #1000th Lamborghini Aventador has rolled off the assembly line at the Sant' Agata Bolognese plant. Ordered in Argos Orange by a very lucky customer from Germany, this Aventador will be welcomed into a new home that is shared with the owner's older Lamborghini Diablo.
The fact that there are a thousand customers that signed a check for an Aventador bears no surprise. However, we are utterly astounded by how quickly the first thousand customers have been able to take delivery of their car. Comparatively, the preceding Lamborghini Murcielago took 29 months, nearly twice as long, to reach its 1000th milestone.
Lamborghini heavily invested in production capacity ahead of the Aventador release to make sure the facility would be ready from the word "go." Currently, average output at Lamborghini is running at 4.5 vehicles per day when it was only 3 vehicles per day last year. Despite a voilent earthquake in Northern Italy prompted Lamborghini to halt production for a couple days, Lamborghini only expects production at the plant to improve.
Meanwhile, customer demand for the carbon fiber supercar continues to rise. Clients that choose to order an Aventador now will have to endure another 18 months on waitlist before their Lamborghini is ready.
