Even though Larry Hernández still has to face kidnapping, third degree assault and battery by mob charges during a second hearing on December 31, the Mexican singer is trying to stay positive about the outcome especially after finding out his accuser, José Andrade, was arrested under fraud charges in Newberry, South Carolina earlier this month.

The “Larrymania” star has been focusing on getting his career back on track and didn’t waste time to schedule his comeback concert, which took place in Dallas, TX last Friday. During a quick interview with Univision’s “Despierta América” on the night of the concert, Larry shared a few details about his experience in prison and revealed what was the first thing he did after gaining back his freedom.

“I don’t know, the phone seemed weird to me at first. When I grabbed it, it was weird. I’m the kind of person that always has their phone in their hand,” Larry told Univision’s Orlando Segura. “And the first thing I did was talk, hug my mom. We were hugging inside the car and then we stopped to grab a bite, and the first thing I did was change my clothes because I was wearing the same outfit for more than 10 days.”

Univision’s cameras were able to sneak into the concert, where an emotional Larry told his fans “never, never leave God on the side. That’s the only thing I can say to you. Because I am here thanks to Him.” Hernández, who is not allowed to share specific details about the case, managed to let the media, and fans, in a little bit and talked about how keeping God by his side helped him get trough life in jail.

“Being in a confinement room for 3 weeks, because that’s were I was. Where I had no television, nothing, I only had one-hour breaks, so that to me…was very hard,” Larry said. “I have always been committed to God but there were parts in my life where I would say, I think it comes with the job, and I think I hit rock bottom and because of this situation I’m living now, I realized that I need to be thankful for other things in my life.”

Larry also stated that his time in jail didn’t go to waste because time in solitary helped with his song writing. He managed to write about 20 songs, including the one he dedicated to his mom at “Premios De La Radio 2015.”
