Pop singer Aaron Carter passed away last November 5 at his home in Lancaster, California. A housekeeper found the body of the 34-year-old with the cause of death yet to be determined pending a toxicology report.

Aside from authorities, only select people were allowed to check the late singer’s home. Among them include Carter’s close friend, Gary Madatyan, and the singer/songwriter’s on-and-off fiancée, Melanie Martin.

Both went over to the late singer's home and came across a disturbing scene.

“After they removed the body from the house, they allowed just a few people to get into the house. We just wanted to go in there and see if any blood or any alcohol or anything was in the house,” Madatyan said to Entertainment Tonight.

“I went to his bedroom. The bedroom was normal,” he continued. “I went to the bathroom where the bathtub was full of water, like, yellowish color.”

Carter was previously diagnosed with multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, acute anxiety and manic depression. According to Madatyan, paired with addiction, may have led to his untimely demise at age 34 on Saturday.

Aside from that, Madatyan added that another reason which may have contributed to the demise of Carter is the custody battle of his one-year-old son, Prince.

Madatyan explains that the custody battle took its toll on the “I Want Candy” singer.

“I think he was doing OK until this child custody case came in,” Madatyan said. “He was very heartbroken that he couldn’t see his child and had a lot of meetings with his attorneys.”

It was in September when Carter checked into outpatient rehab, not long after the court decided to give Martin temporary custody of their son due to domestic violence and drug use issues.

“It was really bad. He couldn’t manage his money. There was nobody there to manage his money,” Madatyan said. “… He was financially doing really bad, very bad. … He needed someone to be there for him.”
