Alejandra Espinoza has become a household name since she was crowned the "Nuestra Belleza Latina" winner back in 2007. After taking home the grand prize she has gone on to host shows like "Sabado Gigante," "El Gordo y la Flaca" and special events like "Premios Juventud" and "Premios Lo Nuestro." How does she handle it all? "Could it be that I am still young? Maybe when I get older I will start saying 'no,'" Espinoza told Latin Times exclusively. "They always tell me, 'take advtange while you are young and have no kids and still have energy,' As long as they keep on inviting me to participate I am happy because I like working and because I am thrilled that they have the trust in me being in multiple projects."

Alejandra was born in Tijuana, Baja California in Mexico and grew up in San Ysidro, Calif. Prior to landing her big break on Univision's hot show she participated in the Nuestra Belleza México pageant in 2006 where she placed 4th. The beauty queen then migrated to Miami in pursuit of her dreams and it was here where she met her now husband, Anibal Marrero. The couple wed in 2011 and Espinoza tells us that they are planning on having children soon. "I hope I can give you guys the news this year but I will leave it in God's hands. We are happy, in love and I believe that it will be this year, if not next year but hopefully soon."

While Espinoza and Marrero wait for the stork to come knocking at their door, the Latin presenter has a new gig on deck, she will be returning to her roots. In a major change for the upcoming 8th season of "Nuestra Belleza Latina," Alejandra will join Chiquinquirá Delgado and Pedro Moreno as hosts. "I'm very blessed with the opportunity, I feel that I am in the right place because I can perfectly understand what the girls are feeling," she said. "When I was in the auditions I transported myself to that moment when I was in front of the judges. I am there as support for them and to contribute positive things to the show. I hope to be part of the challenges and to visit the girls at the mansion. I will do whatever they [producers] tell me to do so the girls can continue growing and feel the support of someone that has been through the process."

One of the challenges that the new season of "Nuestra Belleza Latina 2014" will be facing the stiff competition of "Top Chef Estrellas" on Telemundo. The reality show in Univision's main rival will have various celebrities to be crowned as the top chef, but this doesn't have Alejandra worried and encourages the added pressure. "Competition is always good because it allows you to be the best, to better yourself and to make changes. It is always good and necessary so a project can continue to evolve" Espinoza said. "Top Chef" is not the only show they will be up against as last year the Telemundo announced they were going to produce a fairly similar contest around beauty queens. "Inevitably there will be comparisons between the two, but we each will be doing our best job," she responded. "I have always been in favor of giving opportunities to people that look for it and any new contest is welcomed."

Alejandra's previous involvement with the show will certainly be an added bonus to the new season. "We've had meetings and everything looks incredible and we have incredible chemistry," Alejandra said about her co-hosts Delgado and Moreno. "Chiqui and Pedro are giving it their all and they are happy. People are going to be excited with the work that they will see on screen." It'll be 8 seasons including the one being produced this year and they have all been center around women. Could their be a chance to open up the show to male models? "Men write messages to me all the time and they ask when will they have a 'Nuestra Belleza Latino' and I hope that the opportunity comes up. Men are rougher than women and would be basis for an interesting show."

With all work Alejandra is involved with and her upcoming hosting duties on "NBL" and "Premios Lo Nuestro 2014" as the social media guru, how does she stay so fit? "Theres always time," she tells us about staying healthy and gave us some tips. "A lot of the times we make the impossible to make ourselves believe that we don't have the time. If you don't have time to excercise, at least you have time to feed yourself better. We know what food we eat and we can at least be more nutritious and instead of eating a burger, eat a salad or instead of drinking a soda, drink water." You can catch Alejandra Espinoza on the new season of "Nuestra Belleza Latina" starting on Feb. 16 at 8pm/7c on Univision.
