Senator Lindsey Graham delivered a pointed message to Vladimir Putin, warning that Donald Trump is preparing to confront the Russian leader head-on and likening his foreign policy approach to the dominance of golf phenom Scottie Scheffler.
Speaking on Fox News' Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy, Graham accused Putin of trying to revive the Soviet empire by invading sovereign nations and breaking past nuclear agreements, Mediaite reported. He said Trump would respond forcefully, both diplomatically and militarily.
"Donald Trump is a Scottie Scheffler of American politics and foreign diplomacy and he's about to put a whoopin' on your ass," Graham said.
Graham also highlighted Trump's new NATO-aligned weapons initiative, designed to accelerate arms deliveries to Ukraine. He warned Putin that the U.S. would keep supporting Kyiv until Russia's aggression is stopped and its economy is further weakened.
Just hours after Graham's comments aired, Russia fired a fresh wave of ballistic missiles at Kyiv, killing two and injuring 15, according to the Associated Press.
