“The Mandalorian” TV series hasn’t even aired yet, and reports of pre-production work for Season 2 have surfaced online already. Leaked photos from the production set of the show tease the return of a familiar vehicle that was used by the Empire.
Disney is yet to announce the renewal of “The Mandalorian,” but given the scale of the production and the interest in the fan base, this is considered to be a mere formality at this point. Jon Favreau has also confirmed that he has been working on the next season, and there is now some evidence to suggest that pre-production work has been ongoing on the set.
According to Bespin Bulletin, there has been some work on the production set of the “Star Wars” live action TV series that is related to the fictitious planet Tatooine. The desert planet will also be featured in the first season of the show, and it is a place where the scum and villains of the galaxy operate.
The live action series is set at the time when the Empire has fallen. However, the regional Governors have emerged as local warlords in their respective sectors. This is expected to continue in “The Mandalorian” Season 2.
One of the exciting vehicles of the Empire that will be seen in the next season is the All Terrain Scout Transport or AT-ST. The small Walkers were used by Stormtroopers in the fight against Rebels in the Original Trilogy.
The AT-ST was hidden on the production set with some black trap, but the leaked picture from the set makes it easy to identify the Empire’s vehicle. With the pre-production work complete, filming of the next season will begin on October 7.
Another change in Season 2 is that Favreau will be directing one of the episodes. In a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, the showrunner said that he was busy with “The Lion King” when he was working on the live-action “Star Wars” series, but he is going to make it a point to get hands on this time around.
The first season of “The Mandalorian” will air on November 12. The show will be available exclusively on Disney+ streaming service.
