Mariah Carey and James Packer had Hollywood talking with their budding romance. The couple who confirmed their engagement earlier this year may already be heading to splitsville.

According to In Touch Weekly, Mariah Carey and James Packer have called it quits. It was reported that the couple split earlier this week after the billionaire dumped Mariah for getting a little too cozy with one of her backup dancers in her Vegas show.

The Australian businessman also broke things off with the starlet for numerus reasons. Us Weekly reports that he allegedly dumped the pop superstar after they had a falling out over her upcoming reality show, Mariah's World, and her over-the-top spending habits.

The site reports that he allowed her to keep the striking 35-carat engagement ring he gave her but he is serious about their split.

“It’s all over,” a source told the tabloid of the lovebirds, who were first spotted together in June 2015 in Capri, Italy. “James had huge reservations about Mariah’s new reality TV show and the fact that she was willing to expose their lives to the world.”

TMZ also reports thatthe singer's reality show, Mariah's World, has been chronicling the couple's turbulent relationship, which has been allegedly been "plagued" with issues. James wasn't a fan of filming the show in the first place, and this has since been another source of conflict for the couple.

The insider echoed the sentiments about their different lifestyles. “Some of Mariah’s eccentric ways, especially her spending habits, caused drama,” the source added. “James is very private, and doesn’t need the media to be successful. He doesn’t want to be a part of Mariah’s reality show.”

This is not Carey's first rodeol. The star was married to Nick Cannon in 2008 aqnd the two split in Summer 2014. While ther are rumors that Packer and Carey may patch things up, insiders say that its unlikely.
