Marvel is reportedly planning to create three new Captain Americas in the future. A recent report suggests that the studio would like to include at least three specific types of Captain America in the upcoming phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Although “Avengers: Endgame” saw the end of various character arcs and main storylines, there’s a huge possibility for Captain America to reappear in the MCU. Marvel is reportedly planning to introduce three Captain Americas based on the iconic superhero.

While these three characters will have significant links to the original Captain America, the studio will reportedly introduce them under different names. As the new characters make their way into the MCU, they will not necessarily take over the Captain America alias but will only be similar to the original Captain America of Steve Rogers.

According to reports, the future Captain Americas will include black, female and gay versions of the iconic hero. These new versions will not include Sam Wilson, the current Captain America in the latest phase of the MCU. It can be recalled that one of the most heartbreaking moments in “Avengers: Endgame” was when Steve Rogers finally passed on the mantle of the iconic hero to Sam Wilson, a.k.a. Falcon.

It remains unknown how Marvel will use the three new Captain Americas in its future films, as well as how the studio will introduce them in their storylines. Considering how Steve Rogers left the MCU, however, there are several ways that Marvel can utilize these three versions of the character in the future.

Since Steve Rogers left the MCU as Captain America, there has been a void in the middle of the MCU. That said, Marvel will definitely need at least one character that is strong enough to make up for Steve Rogers’ absence. The three future Captain Americas will carry on the spirit and legacy of the original Captain America while helping Marvel with its efforts to become more diverse.

Rumor has it that the female version of Captain America will be Peggy Carter as Captain Britain, while the gay version will be America Chavez’s Miss America. The young, black Captain America will reportedly be Eli Bradley’s Patriot from the “Young Avengers” comics. Marvel has yet to confirm these reports, so fans should take them with a grain of salt.
