The Scarlet Witch (played by Elizabeth Olsen) is among the Marvel characters that appear to have been written off, especially after the events that went down on “Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”

But in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most know that even the dead return at some point. It could be in prequels or flashbacks. Several heroes followed that route, particularly and ironically the case of Vision.

Looking ahead, it has yet to be known if fans will ever get to see Wanda Maximoff again. The best people to weigh in on that are perhaps the people behind the scenes such as writer Michael Waldron.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Waldron was asked about this scenario. And as most would expect, his response was far from affirming anything with the writer playing coy so as not to reveal anything about the future plans of Marvel.

“She’s removing herself from the board… For now? Forever? We’ll see. I’d like to see her again…,” Waldron stated.

Aside from Vision, there have been other characters who initially died and then end up getting resurrected such as Phil Coulson and Loki. The Scarlet Witch could do the same.

In the multiverse, anything is possible. The only question is when.

For critics, sidelining Maximoff after “Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is unlikely to hold up. She was considered the crown jewel of the multiverse saga so ending her story abruptly is a bit off.

After WandaVision, it will be interesting if MCU has other plans on the horizon. There are a lot of other installments over the horizon so the best to expect is to see the Scarlet Witch appear in some sort of capacity.

So while existing storylines claim that Scarlet Witch is dead.
