Speculations are doing the rounds that Meghan Markle harbored dreams of becoming the US President right from the time she began dating Prince Harry. An insider close to her alleged that she revealed the “ultimate ambition” soon after the two began seeing each other.

“A very good source said even after Meghan had started going out with Prince Harry she had said that her ultimate ambition was to be president,” said Richard Eden, royal commentator while talking to palace confidential on MailPlus. “It seems to be increasingly likely and what a fascinating prospect it would be,” he added.

Considering how Meghan’s next step has been under constant media scrutiny all through, it wasn’t surprising for gossip mills to speculate what the Duchess was up to. And, scores of royal sources and insiders always believed that Megan running for US Presidency would eventually become a reality.

But, royal commentator Victoria Murphy also believes it would be remarkable if things panned out the way people expected. “I would never say never but I don't think this is something that is on the cards in the near future. Anyone I've spoken does seem to suggest that's the case. What be interesting about it is one of the challenges for Harry and Meghan now is to be seen as other than the Royal Family. Everything that they do, their identities are shaped by the royal family and I do not see how that could ever not be the case. If she was to become President their legacy would be completely different,” she said.

Meghan and Harry have been vocal about their troubles ever since they moved out of Britain and shifted base to Los Angeles with their son Archie. The Sussexes have been financially independent ever since, and signed multiple deals with streaming giants like Spotify and Netflix, as reported by Daily Star.

Things have taken an all-new turn after Harry and Meghan’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey was aired. The Duchess' claims about Archie being subjected to racism stoked angst and despair within the British Royal Family, with several senior members chiding the couple for their apparently false claims. Prince William later addressed the controversy and shot back that the “royals were not racist.”
