The U.S. Vice President Mike Pence will not self-quarantine after his press secretory Katie Miller was confirmed having coronavirus infection on last Friday. Pence has decided to return to the White House for work starting Monday.

Pence spokesperson Devin O'Malley confirmed that he is not in self-quarantine and is expected to return to the White House on Monday. However, he did mention that Pence will continue to follow the advice of the White House Medical Unit and has tested negative for coronavirus “every single day.”

This is the third White House coronavirus case. Just one day before Miller’s diagnosis, President Donald Trump's valet tested positive for COVID-19. The last Trump was in contact with his valet was on Tuesday, the same week.

Before that, another one of Pence’s staff was diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier in March when the government started to implement stay-at-home orders across the U.S.

Trump was the one to confirm Miller’s diagnosis and also said that the whole he has not been in contact with Miller, Pence had. However, he has been taking all the necessary precautions considering Miller’s diagnosis.

"She's a wonderful young woman, Katie," he said. "She tested very good for a long period of time, and then all of a sudden today she tested positive."

It has been reported that both Trump and Miller have had coronavirus testing done, which has come out to be negative. In fact, all of the White House staffers are expected to undergo COVID-19 testing.

A White House official said that the staffers are currently extremely sensitive about the current state of affairs owing to the contradictory advice to the states to gradually lift lockdown to revive the economy while internally, the administration has been asked to enhance protocols to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the White House.

Meanwhile, reports of people in the West Wing of the White House being nervous have come. Miller used to meet and communicate with several people within the White House on a daily basis, including Pence.

Miller’s husband and Trump’s senior adviser Stephen Miller tested negative for coronavirus on Friday. However, he is not expected to return to the White House to resume his duties immediately.
