Miranda Lambert, recently, opened up about her life in New York City. The singer also opened up about her latest album and one of her songs, “Fire Escape.”

While speaking with Kelly Ford on New York’s Country 94.7, Lambert said that she’s getting acclimated to her life in the Big Apple. She and her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, are riding the rails, and he’s still helping the singer get used to riding the subway.

Miranda Lambert admitted that taking the subway is still scary to her because she’s scared of missing her stops. “I’m A.D.D. — so I’ll be daydreaming and miss my place to get out,” she said.

While living in New York City, Lambert found inspiration for one of her songs, “Fire Escape.” According to the singer, she didn’t have a fire escape back home and since it was new to her, she just had to write a song about it.

“Getting to just disappear and really get into the culture of the city was so good for my creativity and inspiration because it was something different,” she said. “Fire Escape” is featured in her “Wildcard” album.

During her interview with NPR’s “Morning Edition,” Lambert shared more details about her track. She said that the New York bustle gave her different energy that encouraged her to write her songs.

“I don’t know exactly how that translated to tape, but it definitely was a huge part of it. And I think it’s just because I was kind of open to a new thing, in all the ways: a new relationship, a new city, a new producer,” she said.

Meanwhile, Miranda Lambert and McLoughlin started dating each other last year. Just three months later, they decided to tie the knot. During her interview with the New York Times last month, Lambert revealed that she met her husband during her guesting on “Good Morning America.”

McLoughlin was one of the security staff there. And after her friends encouraged her to get to know McLoughlin, the two just hit it off immediately. “They invited him to our show behind my back. They plucked him for me. My security guy Tom, he was in on it too. He said to me, ‘He’s here. And he’s pretty,’” she gushed.
