Loyal viewers of the show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" know by heart that the show's host, Jimmy Kimmel himself, is fond of poking fun at certain people or matters. But his ultimate favorite comic relief perhaps is America's very own leader, President Donald Trump.

Now, Jimmy has plenty of jokes to tell about America's government and this is the exact reason why the show and its host became quite controversial.

For the past years, Jimmy Kimmel has gotten into a bit of trouble every time he makes fun of the president. This time though, his joke has gone too far that it even cost ABC Network a hefty amount of cash.

It was reported recently on Fox News that alert tones were improperly used on the show to poke fun at the presidential alert mishap that happened late last year.

As a way to repair the damage the show has caused, ABC was forced to pay $395,000 in fines to the Federal Communications Commission or FCC.

The FCC said that the emergency alert system or EAS should only be used for emergencies such as earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. The show clearly broke this rule by using it as a way to humor the audience and gain more viewers.

In a statement released by the FCC, they said, “We remain concerned about the misuse of the EAS codes and EAS and WEA Attention Signals, or simulations thereof, to capture audience attention during advertisements; dramatic, entertainment and educational programs, and at any other time that there is no genuine alert. The FCC may issue sanctions for such violations, including, but not limited to, monetary forfeitures.”

Meanwhile, the network took full responsibility for what happened and said, “ABC takes regulatory compliance seriously and we are pleased to have resolved this issue.”

Other networks that did something similar were also fined as a way to repair damages.
