Conspiracy theories and the British royal family are two of the most popular topics that have continued to enthrall the masses. Take a quick glance at any tabloid stand, and there is an article or two detailing the activities of these royals, proving the public’s undiminished admiration toward this elite group. On the other hand, the continuously growing number of YouTube videos about conspiracy theories is proof that the topic is just as popular as the royalty.

But what happens when both topics overlap? In that case, it can only result to some of the most bizarre yet highly entertaining theories known to modern man.

1. Prince Harry’s marriage to Meghan is part of the British plot to regain control over America

One of the recent events that thrilled both Hollywood and royalty fans is the high-profile marriage between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. While most people are focused on the romance, glitz and glamor of the affair, a few are actually more concerned about a rather startling possibility — that it is just part of the British royalty’s plot to control America once more.

According to Business Insider, it all started with a tweet by Twitchy.com editor Greg Pollowitz, who wrote:

“Prince Harry's kids will be Americans. What if one grows up to be president and is in line for the throne at the same time? Brits are playing long-ball here, but it's a smart move. They want America back and this is how they'll do it.”

2. Meghan Markle might be a robot

Since Meghan is now part of the British royal family, we might as well include a rather unusual theory regarding the actress. According to Marie Claire, there are actually speculations that Prince Harry’s wife might be a robot in disguise.

The rumor seemed to have started when the royal couple was part of the audience of the finale of “Britain’s Got Talent,” where Meghan allegedly neither blinked nor showed any facial expression. But the issue was soon settled as it was later found out that the supposed Prince Harry and Duchess of Sussex are just regular folks who were promoting Madame Tussauds’ exhibit at that time by wearing masks of the royal couple. Hmm, it seems robots have not yet invaded the royal family after all.

3. The royal family had a hand in Princess Diana’s car crash

This one is a bit old, but it still deserves to be mentioned as it was a hot topic back then. When Princess Diana and her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed, died of a car crash in France in 1997, there were rumors that the British royalty might have orchestrated the car crash.

There were even claims that it was Prince Philip or even Prince Charles who was pulling the strings, according to Business Insider. According to these theories, the motive of the assassination was to prevent Diana from marrying Fayed and giving birth to his child.

These are just a few of the thousands of conspiracy theories involving the royalty. Some theories have even endured the test of time and still continue to fascinate people to this day. Whether they are true or not is, of course, still up for debate. But most people just enjoy them for the entertainment they bring.
