Not only did Amazon viewers vote yes on “Mozart in the Jungle,” but there will be a season two! The show, based on the classical music world memoir by Blair Tindall and on a certain level, on Venezuela’s conducting superstar, Gustavo Dudamel, was created by Roman Coppola, Paul Weitz, Alex Timbers and Jason Schwartzman. It follows the story of conducting prodigy Rodrigo D’Souza (played by Gael García Bernal) has been saving mediocre orchestras all over the world, with a good balance between a musical genius and a regular young guy who wants to have fun and is a womanizer; hence the show’s slogan “Sex, drugs, and classical music.”

As the lead character is losely based on Dudamel, they say both of then spoke on the phone for hours and decided it would be a great idea to let Gael take over in a real concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, in order to shoot the opening number of the show's second season. The video shows how the two have a great relationship and García Bernal looking rather nervous as the Venezuelan conductor hands over the baton and shows him some movements, while the orchestra delights our ears with some Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro.”

The second season of the Amazon Prime show is set to be released in early 2016.
