Orlando Bloom is currently in the spotlight because of a recent interview where he revealed that he nearly took on the role of Batman. Fans can surely recall Christian Bale’s character as the protector of Gotham City in “Batman Begins,” but what they aren’t aware of is that the Legolas actor could’ve portrayed his character.

At the 2019 Comic-Con International: San Diego, MTV News caught up with the 42-year-old English actor, who shared details on one particular instance where he met with director Christopher Nolan for “The Dark Knight” Trilogy.

“There was talk that you were gonna be Batman at one point,” said the interviewer. “I was just thinking, ‘I did meet with Christopher Nolan,’” responded Bloom.

“I didn’t audition, and it was more of a conversation of … I was in the middle of all this other stuff, and I was like, I can’t,” he continued. The Paris, Prince of Troy, actor then expounded on the fact that he was working on “The Lord Of The Rings” and the “Pirates Of The Caribbean” film series at that time.

As such, it wasn’t the “right timing” for him to have taken on another franchise. “I was just like, I need to be off the grid for a while cause I don’t know which way is up,” expressed Bloom. The interviewer then proceeded to ask him about his thoughts after having seen the “The Dark Knight trilogy.

“Is there any kind of, like, ‘What would I have done with my Batman?’” asked the reporter. “No, I think Christian Bale was phenomenal,” responded Bloom. “But it’s funny now I think about it, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, it was an interesting window,’” he continued.

The interview ended with Bloom giving Nolan praises, which were accompanied by the actor pretending to bow down. “We are not worthy,” he stated. “I love Christopher Nolan so much. I would like run, not walk, to work with him,” Bloom added.

Fans of the actor may catch him alongside Cara Delevingne in the TV series “Carnival Row.” Set in a Victorian fantasy world, it features a human detective and a fairy who rekindled a treacherous affair. It is slated for release on Aug. 30 on Amazon Prime.
