Adult film star Dahlia Sky was found dead in her car on Wednesday, apparently from a gunshot wound. She was 31 years old at the time.

According to Adult Video News, the 10-year veteran of the adult entertainment industry would have celebrated her 32nd birthday on Aug. 10.

The situation is being investigated as a possible suicide. An online tabloid said the adult industry singer had been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer and was suffering despair at the time of her death.

Sky's body was discovered in the vehicle at 8 p.m. on Jun. 30 in the Devonshire region of the San Fernando Valley, according to LAPD detective Dave Peteque. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner is awaiting autopsy results.

Peteque said "potential suicide" is "what the investigation is leaning towards, and there's no evidence at this time that there's any foul play."

Sky's busy career and multifaceted personality have been memorialized by friends and followers since her death.

"During her last year I spoke to her several times about life. It was not an easy ride for her," said Hans — the mononymous owner of JHP Films, which co-produced some of Sky's previous work — in a statement to AVN. "This will take a long time to get over, if it's even possible. Dahlia Sky, you beautiful soul, you funny, complicated and warm-hearted friend! I am going to miss you so much."

According to New York Post, Sky began working in adult entertainment in 2010 under the name Bailey Blue. She changed her name in 2014 after receiving a cease-and-desist letter from a clothing brand with the same name, according to AVN — and went on to earn over 600 credits as well as numerous industry accolades. On social media, she was candid about her fight with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and depression.

“She was super funny and she had a big heart, but unfortunately, her battle with breast cancer took a toll on her mental health and she struggled with depression, as most people would,” producer Axel Braun told AVN of Sky. “My heart goes out to her family and loved ones, we lost a beautiful soul.”
