It is no surprise that the first presidential debate has been under tons of scrutiny. From Donald Trump’s ranting and yelling to Hilary Clinton’s low-key shade throwing, the first debate has set the tone for her people are viewing this election. San Francisco 49ers star Colin Kaepernick didn’t see much of the debate but what he did see left him far from pleased.

According to Mercury News, Kaepernick has had enough of both candidates. In his eyes both candidates are basically arguing over which one is “less racist” and its something he doesn’t care to witness. Ouch!

“ I watched a little bit of it, to me it was embarrassing to watch that these are our two candidates,” the star told the site. At this point, in talking to one of my friends, you have to pick the lesser of two evils, but the end is still evil.” Harsh words from the football star, but many people agree with his stance. Although both candidates disgust Kaepernick, he still intends on casting his vote on November 8.

The star has made news in the past for his controversial national anthem protest that left America divided. While the star refused to stand for the national anthem with great reasoning, it didn’t sit well with many people including Donald Trump. The Republican presidential candidate took the opportunity to bash the football star calling his actions “a terrible thing” and that he should find a country that works better for him.”

This past Tuesday, Kaepernick responded to Trump’s remarks with the ultimate comeback. “ He always says ‘Make America Great Again.’ Well it’s never been great for people of color. That’s something that needs to be addressed. Let’s make America great for the first time”, the football star said.

The interesting thing is that judging by the first debate it is clear as day that Trump is truly “living in his own reality “as Clinton boldly stated. People of color have been going through the worst and Trump doesn’t seem to realize the magnitude of the situation or even care.
